Meet the Person #

Zhou Yu brought troops to meet Sun Ce on his eastward crossing and campaigned in Jiangdong. After Sun Ce's death, he shared responsibility for affairs with Zhang Zhao and assisted Sun Quan. Lu Su had supplied him with grain, and Zhou Yu later recommended Lu Su to Sun Quan.

At Chibi, Sun Quan sent Zhou Yu, Cheng Pu, and others to join Liu Bei against Cao Cao. His general Huang Gai proposed the fire attack. Afterward they pursued and contested Nan Commandery with Cao Ren. Lü Meng took part in planning and carrying out relief for Yiling.

Zhou Yu proposed restricting Liu Bei, but Sun Quan did not adopt the proposal, showing that wartime cooperation was not permanent trust. Gravely ill, he recommended Lu Su to succeed in command and later died of illness.
