Meet the Person #

Lü Meng first joined the army under his elder sister's husband, Deng Dang, then served close to Sun Ce and inherited Deng Dang's troops. Sun Quan increased his forces after taking command. Lü Meng campaigned against Huang Zu and later joined Zhou Yu and others in the Wulin and Nan Commandery campaigns.

On his way to Lukou, Lu Su discussed military affairs with Lü Meng and they became friends. After Lu Su's death, Lü Meng took over his troops. During the retreat from Hefei, when Zhang Liao and others attacked, Lü Meng and Ling Tong provided protection. He later commanded troops at Ruxu against Cao Cao.

While Guan Yu attacked Fan to the north, Lü Meng advanced covertly to seize his rear, receiving surrendering commanders and cities at Gong'an and Nan Commandery. Guan Yu's capture involved intercepting troops separately sent by Sun Quan, so not every action can be attributed to Lü Meng personally.
