Meet the Person #
Huang Zhong's biography records that after Cao Cao took Jing Province, Huang Zhong retained his post under Han Xuan, Administrator of Changsha. This confirms Han Xuan's office and command over Huang Zhong.
The same biography next records Liu Bei's pacification of the southern commanderies and Huang Zhong's submission and subsequent entry into Shu with him. This is a later phase of Huang Zhong's life. The main text does not explain Han Xuan's fate here, and the gap is not filled with fiction.
Approximate sequence, not a timeline drawn to scale.
Limits of the Evidence #
The Romance episodes in which he seeks to kill Huang Zhong and is killed by Wei Yan are not added.
