Meet the Person #
In his final memorial to Liu Bei, Ma Chao called Ma Dai his congdi and entrusted him to continue the lineage. The kinship term follows the original; the entrustment is not turned into a relationship identity for a different pair.
The end of Ma Chao's biography records that Ma Dai rose to General Who Pacifies the North and Marquis of Chencang. It does not give every appointment date; this page supplies neither unknown chronology nor scenes from the novel.
Approximate sequence, not a timeline drawn to scale.
Limits of the Evidence #
Congdi retains the original kinship term; no paternal branch of either man's family or courtesy name and sobriquet is supplied.
